Northeast Express derails in Bihar’s Buxar, 4 deaths reported, 22 trains diverted
The train derailed in the yard of the Raghunathpur at 9.53 p.m.

At least six coaches of the Kamakhya (Assam)-bound Northeast Express, derailed in Bihar’s Buxar district on the night of Oct 11. According to reports, at least four people have lost their lives and 100 people are injured.
The Railway Ministry said that the Anand Vihar-Kamakhya Northeast Express derailed in the yard of the Raghunathpur Railway station in Bihar at 9.53 p.m.
Videos show locals helping passengers
Following the incident, videos from the accident site showed local people rushing to rescue the train passengers.
In the video, a few coaches can also be seen toppled and local people along with police taking out passengers.

22 Trains diverted after the accident
The Railways have diverted 22 Guwahati and Kolkata bound trains and cancelled two others after the accident.
The up and down Patna Varanasi Janshatabdi express train was cancelled.
Nineteen trains, including Patna Azimabad express, Pune Danapur super fast express, Patliputra Superfast express, Dibrugarh Rajdhani, Patna Rajdhani, Vikramsheela express, Kamakhya express, Guwahati express, Tejas Rajdhani express, Anand Vihar Bhagalpur Garib Rath express, Baba Baidyanath Dham Deoghar super fast express train were diverted from Patna to Gaya and Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junctions.
Trains like Ahmadabad Express, Poorwotar Sampark Kranti and others were diverted from Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Sasaram and Arrah stations to reach Patna and further towards Kolkata and Guwahati.
Reminder of the Balasore tragedy
In June this year, at least 293 people died and over were 800 injured after a triple train tragedy in Odisha's Balasore, when the Coromandel Express collided with a goods train on a passing loop, and 21 of its coaches derailed, out of which, three collided with the oncoming Bengaluru Howrah Superfast Express on the adjacent track.
