Non-hindus entry banned in Badrinath and Kedarnath, ₹121 cr budget passed for Char Dham Yatra

The Shri Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) on Tuesday passed ₹121 crore budget for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra and passed a key resolution to ban the entry in Badrinath, Kedarnath and inside 45 temples associated with committee jurisdiction. 

The Char Dham Yatra is going to begin on April 19. The doors of Yamnotri and Gangotri will also open from Akhsay Tritya (19th April) while the doors of Kedarnath will open on April 22 and Badrinath on April 23. Regarding the yatra, Hemant Dwivedi, president of BKTC, held a meeting in which the ₹121 crore budget passed, resolution of banning non hindus entry in Kedarnath, Badrinath and inside 45 temples associated with committee jurisdiction.  

The BKTC President, Hemant Dwivedi announced this on X, clarified, “After detailed discussions on the issue of prohibiting the entry of non-Hindus into Shri Badrinath Dham and Shri Kedarnath Dham, a proposal was passed.”

Further, he also described the budget passed which includes several important decisions related to providing safe, simple, and convenient darshan arrangements for devotees. They are also going to establish a committee's camp office in the Rishikesh Transit Camp to strengthen the Yatra arrangements.
