No issue in verification process, says mohammed shami after SIR hearing in kolkata

Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami on Tuesday said there were no problems in completing verification process after appearing before poll officials for hearing under the ongoing special intensive revision(SIR) exercise in West Bengal.
Shami urged citizens to take responsibility for correcting details in their SIR forms and ensuring their names are included in the voter list. He said the process was conducted smoothly and professionally adding that he had no hesitation in appearing before officials.
“I have been here for the last 20–25 years. If they call me again, I will come,” Shami said, stressing that the SIR exercise is not harmful and should be viewed as a routine verification measure.
Although born in Uttar Pradesh, Shami has been a long-time voter in the Jadavpur Assembly constituency in south Kolkata.
According to reports , Shami was summoned for the hearing due to some complications related to his enumeration form.
Although Shami was scheduled to appear for the hearing at an earlier date, he was not able to attend due to his cricket commitments.
Not only Shami, but his brother had also been summoned for the hearing.
