A massive fire broke out late Sunday night at the Jahru Nag Temple in Ramnagar, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh just days before its ‘pran pratishta’ (establishment) ceremony.

Located in Shaneri village of Rampur, the Jahru Nag Temple had been built at a cost of over ₹2.5 crore. The three-storey structure was completed recently, with the state government contributing around ₹60 lakh, while the remaining funds were raised by local residents. Preparations for the temple’s inauguration were underway when the fire broke out on Sunday night, reducing the entire building to ashes.

Upon receiving the information, police and fire department teams rushed to the spot and began firefighting operations.

Multiple fire engines were deployed as police and firefighters worked to douse the flames.
