Parts of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces may see heavy rainfall, along with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds, the tourism board said, citing the DHM.
The advisory comes weeks after devastating floods on August 26 that have claimed 1,451 lives and left 5,705 people missing, including 636 foreigners, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.
Several visitors in the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river basins were among those affected by the floods.
Tourists Advised to Avoid High-Risk Areas
The Nepal Tourism Board urged visitors travelling to mountainous and high-altitude areas near river basins to take extra precautions, warning that weather conditions can change rapidly and snowfall may occur at higher elevations.
The board also asked visitors to avoid areas affected by severe weather or identified as high-risk, particularly locations near rivers, streams and steep slopes, as well as areas prone to landslides.
Outdoor Activities Discouraged
The advisory urged tourists to avoid trekking, mountaineering and other outdoor activities during unsafe weather conditions.
Visitors were also asked to follow instructions from local authorities, security agencies, tourism professionals and other officials, and move to safe locations in advance based on weather conditions and advice from tour operators.
