Nepal Flood Death Toll Rises To 359, 11 Indians Rescued, 288 uncontactable

The death toll from the devastating floods that swept across Nepal has risen to 359, with bodies recovered from eight districts as of 5 pm on Thursday, according to Nepali Police.

The revised toll includes 17 deaths in Rasuwa, 28 in Nuwakot, 33 in Dhading, 132 in Chitwan, 30 in Gorkha, 22 in Tanahun, 82 in Nawalparasi East and 15 in Nawalparasi West.

Meanwhile, 288 Indian nationals remain uncontactable following the disaster, while 21 Indians have been rescued so far.

Search For Missing Continues

Police and other security agencies are continuing search and rescue operations across the flood-affected districts. Families living in areas at risk of further flooding are also being evacuated to safer locations.

Authorities are working with local administrations and residents to locate missing people and clear roads blocked by debris and flood damage.

Floods Devastate Trishuli-Narayani Corridor

The floods swept through Rasuwa and several other districts before surging downstream through the Trishuli and Narayani river systems.

The disaster has damaged settlements, roads, bridges and other critical infrastructure, while rescue teams continue efforts to reach affected communities and establish the whereabouts of those still missing.

Indian Nationals Among Those Uncontactable

The 288 uncontactable Indian nationals include 73 workers at the Trishuli-1 Power Project, two Tamil Nadu groups of 37 and 49 pilgrims, 32 Indians from West Bengal, 61 Indians travelling through Richa Tours and 33 Indians from Kerala.

Separately, around 200 Indian nationals remain stranded on the Chinese side after travelling for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, with Indian authorities coordinating with local officials for their evacuation.
