Muzaffarnagar Minor Sexually Assaulted on Janmashtami Night, Accused Arrested

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped while on her way to a local temple on the night of Janmashtami in the Chhapar police station area of Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.

The incident took place on September 4 when three youths intercepted the minor as she left home to visit the temple. According to the police, the accused forcibly abducted her and took her to the house of one of the youths in the village, where the main accused, identified as Sameer, allegedly raped her.

Following a written complaint submitted by the victim's family, the police registered a case under serious legal sections and arrested Sameer. He has since been sent behind bars. The search for two other accused, identified as Waleen (also referred to as Valin) and Salman, remains underway.

Angry Reactions and Demands for Action

The attack has sparked widespread outrage among the victim's family and local groups. Mahant Swami Yashveer Maharaj of the Yoga Sadhana Ashram released a video on social media addressing Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, demanding a full police encounter against the accused and the destruction of their homes using bulldozers.

Uttar Pradesh State Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal visited the victim's family to offer support, assuring them that the government would take strict action against those involved. Police investigations into the roles of the remaining suspects are ongoing.
