Munnabhai MBBS-like plot unravels in Assam as fake doctor on the run

A man posing as a doctor in Assam has reportedly been exposed after nearly 25 years of practising without any legitimate medical qualification. Identified as S Sartaj Uddin, the accused allegedly treated thousands of people over the years and even constructed a multi-storey building using the money earned from his so-called medical services. As per reports, he is currently absconding, and police teams are trying to track him down.
According to reports, Uddin had been operating since 2001 without any recognised medical degree or registration. Despite this, he reportedly managed to run a clinic in Bongaigaon and drew in a steady stream of patients who believed he was a licensed practitioner.
The Assam Council of Medical Registration has received a formal complaint against him, which prompted authorities to intervene. Following the complaint, Bongaigaon police initiated an investigation into the allegations.
The case has once again highlighted concerns about long-running unregulated medical practice and the risks it poses to public safety.
