Maha Kumbh 2025 rests full of surprises as an IITian Baba (monk) was spotted in the mela, as per a viral video doing rounds on social media.

A ‘Baba’ at the Maha Kumbh Mela revealed his education qualifications saying that he was an aerospace engineering from IIT Bombay before kicking off his spiritual journey.

The 45-day religious and spiritual gathering of Maha Kumbh is home to many monks, sadhus and even foreigners who gave up their woldly and materialistic pleasures to find 'spiritual truth

A viral video showed a reporter interacting with a baba in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, who claimed that he has sone Arospace Engineering from IIT Bombay.

Baba, whose birth name was told reportedly as Abhay Singh is from Haryana. 

Singh further said that he was teaching in a coaching class before trying his hands on photography, product design, visual communication, animation, and arts.

He said that he wanted to find 'meaning of life' even while he was pursuing engineering.

On Tuesday, the first 'Amrit Snan' of Maha Kumbh 2025 began on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, with over 1 crore saints and devotees taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the sacred confluence of  the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati, in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
