Mangaluru police arrest two South Africans in ₹75 cr drug smuggling case in Karnataka

Mangaluru police have arrested two South African nationals from Bengaluru for allegedly smuggling and supplying MDMA. The police have seized drugs worth ₹75 crore from two trolley bags the individuals were carrying.
The police identified the accused as Bamba Fanta from Abidjan, South Africa, who is currently a resident of Vipin Garden, New Delhi, and Abigail Adonis, 30, from Pretoria, South Africa, residing in Malviya Nagar, New Delhi.
According to reports, investigations revealed that the two accused had been smuggling drugs via air routes from Delhi to Bengaluru.
Acting on intelligence received, Mangaluru police conducted an operation on March 14, during which they arrested the two South African women from Neeladri Nagar, Bengaluru, with drugs concealed in two trolley bags.
Mangaluru Commissioner of Police Anupam Agarwal stated, “In Bengaluru, we have arrested two women from West Africa and Nigeria, who were carrying 38 kg of MDMA worth ₹75 crore. We have taken up a case in this regard.”
Subsequent investigations led authorities to a Nigerian national named Peter, who was arrested in Bengaluru with MDMA worth ₹6 crore, earlier.
The police reportedly seized four mobile phones, two travel bags, two passports, and ₹2,18,460 in cash.
Further investigation into the matter is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge soon.
