Man stabbed after catching wife and cousin together in Mumbai

A man in Mumbai was stabbed by his wife and cousin after he reportedly caught them together at home. Police have filed a case of attempt to murder against both of them.

The incident happened in Govandi on Sunday when the 38-year-old labourer went home to collect a key, he found the door locked from inside and saw an unknown pair of slippers outside. When he looked inside, he allegedly saw his wife and his cousin in a compromising situation, after he confronted them, the cousin ran away.

Later that night, wife called both men for a meeting, when an argument escalated to stabbing. Police reportedly said that the cousin took out a knife and tried to stab the man in the chest. The victim moved aside, but the knife hit his right hand. His thumb was cut and other fingers were badly injured.

Police said wife then stabbed man in his left thigh. The injured man managed to escape from house. He was first taken to a nearby dispensary and later shifted to Sion Hospital for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing, police have registered an FIR against wife and cousin for attempted murder.
