Man carrying live bullets detained at Assam CM swearing-in ceremony

At the venue of the swear-in ceremony of the new Assam government, a man was reportedly taken into custody after a few rounds of live bullets were found on him, as per reports.
During the security screening, at the entrance of the Veterinary College Field in Khanapara, where Himanta Biswa Sarma took oath as Assam Chief Minister for his second consecutive term. The man was reportedly taken into custody for questioning to the Basistha police station. As per reports, no arms were recovered from him.
Himanta Biswa Sarma was sworn in as Chief Minister by Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya during a grand ceremony held at the Khanapara Veterinary Ground in Guwahati. He took the oath of office and secrecy in the presence of top national and state leaders.
The swearing-in ceremony briefly witnessed a tense moment just minutes before the Governor administered the oath to Himanta and the newly inducted council of ministers.
Several senior dignitaries attended the event, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari. More than 40 NDA chief ministers and deputy chief ministers were also present.
Alongside Himanta, four MLAs were inducted into the cabinet. These included BJP leaders Rameswar Teli and Ajanta Neog, AGP’s Atul Bora, and BPF leader Charan Boro, all of whom took oath as ministers.
The ceremony followed the NDA’s massive victory in the 126-member Assam Assembly, where the alliance secured a record 102 seats. The BJP alone won 82 seats, while its allies the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) secured 10 seats each.
