LS 2024 results: BJP clean sweeps six states, Congress gets one

The Lok Sabha Election result gave the NDA 294 seats and 234 to INDIA. In many states, the tables were turned on the respective ruling parties, and in many, one party ruled all LS seats. BJP’s fortress, Gujarat, was not to be a clean sweep as the ruling party only managed 25 seats there. However, below are the states where one party won all the seats.
Madhya Pradesh (BJP)
The BJP's clean sweep in the Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh would give a sense of relief to CM Mohan Yadav as well as strengthen his position among several high-profile politicians in the state.
It is more because Yadav has replaced an established politician and four-time former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. His governance will be judged later as his government is at an early stage. Still, in a short period, he earned what his predecessor Chouhan could not do.
BJP won Chhindwara, the last bastion of the Congress in Madhya Pradesh. Although it was the second victory of the right wing in Chhindwara, the BJP cherished a first-ever victory on its own.
Such was the domination of the BJP that out of 29 seats, BJP candidates won 25 seats with a margin of over 1,00,000 votes.
Delhi (BJP)
This came as no surprise since it would be the third time straight that the saffron party would carry the torch in the national capital territory.
All seven seats of Delhi were won by BJP, out of which, four seats - Northwest Delhi, West Delhi, Northeast Delhi, and South Delhi gave BJP the margins of over 1,00,000 voters, meaning the saffron candidates running way ahead of their rivals.
Uttarakhand (BJP)
All five Uttarakhand seats were won by the BJP, but it's the scope of win that has been impressive for the ruling party. Not only did all the candidates win by a margin of over 1,00,000 votes, but three of them claimed resounding victories with over 2,30,000 votes.
Himachal Pradesh (BJP)
It was a hat-trick for the BJP in Himachal, as Bhardwaj got 6,32,793 votes from the Kangra seat.
Likewise, four-time MP and Union Minister Anurag Thakur won BJP’s bastion Hamirpur with a margin of 1,82,357 votes from his nearest rival of the Congress, Satpal Raizada. Anurag got 607,068 votes, while Raizada got 42,4711 votes.
In the Mandi Parliamentary seat, actor and BJP candidate Kangna Ranaut got 5,37,022 votes, while Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh polled 4,62,267 votes.
Kangna won by 74,755 votes, whereas 5,645 preferred NOTA.
In Shimla (reserved), Suresh Kashyap of the BJP defeated his nearest rival Vinod Sultanpuri of the Congress by a margin of 91,451 votes.
Kashyap polled 519,748 votes, while Sultanpuri got 428,297 votes.

Rijiju (53) was elected from Arunachal West Lok Sabha constituency for the fourth terms – 2004, 2014, 2019 and 2024.
Sitting BJP MP Tapir Gao, who got 1,45,581 votes, won the Arunachal East seat by a margin of 30,421 votes against his Congress opponent Bosiram Siram, who is the state Congress Vice President and former union minister.
Manipur (INC)
Congress’ Angomcha Bimol Akoijam won the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat after defeating BJP candidate and state Education Minister Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh by a margin of 1,09,801 votes
In the tribal reserve Outer Manipur parliamentary seat, Congress’ Alfred Kanngam S. Arthur defeated NPF nominee Kachui Timothy Zimik by a margin of 85,418 votes.
Six candidates contested the Inner Manipur seat, while four aspirants were in the fray for the Outer Manipur seat, which is dominated by people from the Naga and Kuki-Zomi tribes.
The two Lok Sabha seats in violence-ravaged Manipur were held in two phases on April 19 and April 26.
Tripura (BJP)
BJP candidate and former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, who secured a record 8,81,341 votes, won the Tripura West Lok Sabha seat, defeating state Congress President and party nominee Ashish Kumar Saha by a margin of 6,11,578 votes.
Deb, currently a Rajya Sabha member and former Chief Minister (2018-2022), was for the first time elected to the Lower House of Parliament.
