Relief For Rural LPG Consumers
Under the earlier arrangement, rural households had to wait 45 days before booking another LPG refill. The reduction to 25 days means consumers can now order a new cylinder 20 days earlier.
The change is expected to make refill access more convenient for households that depend heavily on LPG for everyday cooking and have limited alternatives during periods of supply disruption.
Commercial LPG Prices Also Fall
The easing of refill restrictions comes alongside recent reductions in commercial LPG cylinder prices.
The price of a 19-kg commercial cylinder was reduced by Rs 9.50 to Rs 11.50 in September. This followed much larger reductions of Rs 192 to Rs 209 in August and Rs 183 in July.
The latest changes indicate a gradual easing of the pressure that had built up around LPG supplies and pricing during the recent geopolitical disruptions.
