Lok Sabha results 2024: Rahul Gandhi wins Raebareli by massive margin

Congress stalwart leader Rahul Gandhi has won his party bastion seat Raebareli by a healthy margin against BJP’s Dinesh Pratap Singh.
Rahul Gandhi fought his first Lok Sabha election from Raebareli, a constituency his mother held four times.
Bhupesh Baghel, former Congress CM, addressing a public gathering in the constituency, also invoked Indira Gandhi and said that the people of Raebareli will not just vote for electing a Lok Sabha member but for electing the country’s next Prime Minister, this time.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also visited Raebareli and campaigned for Rahul.
All members of the Gandhi family and party president Mallikarjun Kharge were present when Rahul Gandhi filed the nomination. It was slated to be a tough contest for him.
In the last parliamentary election, Sonia Gandhi’s victory margin dropped by almost half. The BJP nominated the same candidate who had contested against Sonia Gandhi in 2019.
In the 2022 Assembly election, Congress couldn’t manage to win even a single seat from the region. Sonia Gandhi did make an emotional appeal to people, earlier through a letter and now by siding with son Rahul in Raebareli.
Rahul Gandhi’s shift from Amethi to Raebareli spiced up the poll campaign for the further phases.
