Lok Sabha elections 2024: BJP likely to announce 100 candidates

Updated: Feb 29th, 2024

As the political winds near India’s landscape, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to release the first 100 names of Lok Sabha 2024 election candidates soon.

The Election Commission’s (EC) impending announcement of general election dates prompts political parties to prepare candidate selections in every corner of the country.

According to sources, the BJP will primarily focus on the seats where the party lost in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. A total of 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh will also be included in this list.

The seats where many BJP candidates lost by a considerable margin, or even ranked second in the 2019 general elections, will be a high priority in the focus field of the BJP, according to sources. By announcing the candidates for these seats first, the BJP aims to reach them to the people completely.

BJP’s first candidate list from various states

Names of candidates from states including UP, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, West Bengal, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, and Maharashtra are likely to be disclosed by the BJP in the first list.

These states are the regions where BJP candidates lost by narrow margins.

According to sources, the BJP is planning to enter the election field with full strength and capability. The party’s high command is focusing on 160 Lok Sabha meetings across the country, where the BJP either lost elections or won by a very narrow margin.

The BJP has selected nearly 160 Lok Sabha seats, which it either won by a very narrow margin or couldn’t win. Therefore, the party appointed a cluster in charge almost a year ago to focus more on these seats.
