Kerala student goes missing during family trek at Chandradrona hill in Karnataka

A search operation is underway in Chikkamagaluru after a Class 10 student, Sri Nanda, from Kerala went missing during a family trip to Manikyadhara Falls, as per reports.

The girl was part of a group of around 40 relatives who had travelled from Palakkad. She reportedly went missing at around 5:30 pm on Tuesday while visiting the falls with her family.

Family members searched for her for nearly three hours before alerting authorities at around 8 pm. Following the report, police teams were deployed and a search operation was launched across the area.

Officials said the search continued through the night, with thermal drones being used to trace her movements until early morning. Disaster management teams joined the operation on Wednesday, intensifying efforts to locate the missing student.

The search operation remains ongoing.
