A case has reportedly been registered against BJP legislator BP Harish from Harihar following controversial remarks he made about a woman police officer in Davanagere.

According to reports, Harish, while addressing a press conference earlier this week, likened Davanagere Superintendent of Police (SP) Uma Prashanth to a Pomeranian pet dog. He allegedly accused her of showing bias toward the influential Shamanuru family of the Congress party and claimed she ignored him at official meetings.

Following the remarks, SP Uma Prashanth lodged a complaint. Based on her statement, police have booked the MLA under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including Section 132 (assault or criminal force to deter a public servant), Section 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and Section 79 (insulting a woman’s modesty).
