Jharkhand man hacks three minor daughters to death in Giridih, arrested
A man allegedly hacked his three minor daughters to death with a sharp-edged weapon in Jharkhand’s Giridih district on Monday morning, police officials said.
They said the accused was arrested immediately after the incident.
The incident took place in Turukdih village under the Mufassil police station limits of Giridih, triggering panic and shock in the area.
The deceased have been identified as Pallavi Yadav (14) and her six-year-old twin sisters, Riddhi Yadav and Siddhi Yadav.
According to the police, the accused, Nandu Yadav, suddenly turned violent in the morning and attacked his daughters inside the house with a sharp weapon, inflicting multiple blows. All three girls died on the spot.
Family members rushed to the scene on hearing the children’s cries, but the attacker continued the assault.
Local residents said that the accused’s wife, along with their son, moved to another part of the house during the incident, which helped them escape unhurt.
The gruesome killings left the entire village in mourning, and a large number of residents gathered at the spot as the news spread rapidly.
On receiving information, Mufassil police station in-charge Shyam Kishore Mahto and Sadar SDPO Jitwahan Oraon reached the village with a police team. The accused was taken into custody immediately and rescued from the anger of local residents.
Police have taken possession of the bodies and initiated procedures to send them to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Sadar SDPO Jitwahan Oraon said that the case is being investigated with due sensitivity. The motive behind the killings is yet to be ascertained.
A forensic team has also been called in to collect scientific evidence.
Police officials said further details about the circumstances of the crime will emerge after the post-mortem report and detailed interrogation of the accused.
