JEE Main 2026 session 1 result to be declared on February 16, says NTA

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the result for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 will now be released on February 16. As per the earlier information bulletin, the result was expected by February 12.
Once published, candidates will be able to access their scorecards and cut-off details on the official websites nta.ac.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The objection window for the provisional answer key closed on February 6. After examining the challenges submitted by candidates, the NTA will issue the final answer key, following which the results will be declared.
JEE Main 2026 scores will be considered for admission to undergraduate programmes such as BE/BTech, BArch, and BPlanning in participating government and private institutions across the country.
The Session 1 examination was conducted in computer-based mode between January 21 and January 29, in two daily shifts from 9 am to 12 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm. The BE/BTech papers were held from January 21 to January 28. Students and subject experts described the overall difficulty level as moderate, though it varied across shifts.
In comparison, last year’s January session results were announced on February 11, 2025. The 2025 exam was conducted from January 22 to January 30, and 12 questions were dropped from the final answer key.
The NTA has clarified that JEE Main 2026 scores and merit lists may also be used by other central and state government bodies, subject to their respective eligibility rules and guidelines.
The agency has further stated that there will be no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of the results, and no requests regarding the same will be entertained.
