ISRO’s third moon mission, Chandrayaan 3, is set to launch on July 13 at Satish Dhawan Space Center from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. The Chandrayaan 3 mission will focus on the ability to soft-land on the moon’s surface and operate a robotic rover.
ISRO anticipates a successful third mission to the moon
Earlier, Chandrayaan 2 had reached the moon but the Vikram rover couldn’t successfully land on the surface. ISRO is now eyeing to a successful landing on the moon.

Research and manoeuvring on the moon are main objectives of Chandrayaan 3
The Chandrayaan 3 mission sets off on July 13 aiming to soft-land on the moon’s surface and manoeuvre a robotic rover there. The moon landing also aims to explore and study elements present on the moon.
Launch from Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota at 2.30 p.m.
The Chandrayaan 3 mission shall commence with the launching of the probe which includes a lander, and a rover, from a GSLV Mark 3 heavy-lift launch vehicle. The estimated cost of the mission is reported to be ₹615 cr. The launch will take place at 2.30 p.m. on July 13 from Satish Dhawan Space Center.
