Infosys co-founder, ex-IISC director booked in SC/ST atrocities case

A case has been filed under the Prevention of SC/ST atrocities act in Karnataka against Kris Gopalakrishnan, co-founder of Infosys. The case also names former Indian Institute of Science (IISc) director Balaram and 16 other individuals. The complaint was registered following directives from the 71st City Civil and Sessions Court (CCH). 

The complainant, Durgappa, a faculty member from the Bovi tribal community, alleged caste-based discrimination, threats, and false accusations in a 2014 honey trap case that led to his dismissal from IISc.

As per reports, Durgappa claimed he faced threats and casteist abuse from the accused persons.

Other accused include Govindan Rangarajan, Sridhar Warrier, Sandya Vishwswaraih, Hari KVS, Dasappa, Balaram P, Hemalata Mhishi, Chattopadyaya K, Pradeep D Sawkar, and Manoharan.

There has been no immediate response from either Kris Gopalakrishnan or IISc faculty on the matter.
