Indore-Ahmedabad bus hit by truck near Dahod, one dead, 17 injured

One passenger was killed and 17 others were injured after a luxury bus travelling from Indore to Ahmedabad was hit by a truck on the Ahmedabad-Indore highway near Jalat village in Dahod district on Monday.

According to preliminary information, the accident occurred near the Avantika Hotel when the luxury bus, operated by the Madhya Pradesh Transport Corporation, was reversing and was struck from behind by a truck. The impact caused the bus to overturn.

A passenger identified as Kadambhai Singor (35) was crushed under the bus and died on the spot. Seventeen other passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to a private hospital in Dahod for treatment. Officials said the condition of one injured child remains critical.

Dahod police officials said initial investigation suggests the collision occurred while the bus was reversing onto the highway. Further investigation is underway to determine responsibility for the accident.

The brother of the deceased said Kadambhai had boarded the bus around 10.40 pm and was later found trapped under the overturned bus after the crash.
