IndiGo Flight To Delhi Suffers Engine Failure, Makes Emergency Landing At Goa Airport

An IndiGo Goa-Delhi flight made an emergency landing at Goa’s Manohar International Airport on Tuesday morning after reporting an issue with one of its engines shortly after take-off. Air Traffic Control (ATC) briefly declared a full emergency as flight 6E 2102 returned to the airport, sources said.

IndiGo Flight Returns To Goa After Engine Issue

IndiGo flight 6E 2102 departed from Goa at around 9:16 am for Delhi. Shortly after take-off, an issue with one of the aircraft’s engines was reported, prompting the pilot to turn the aircraft around and return to Goa.

ATC declared a full emergency at around 9:30 am as the aircraft was routed back to the airport for a safe landing.

Aircraft Lands Safely At Mopa Airport

The aircraft landed safely on Runway 28 at 9:51 am and was fully parked at Stand 6. ATC subsequently terminated the full emergency at 10:03 am.

All passengers and crew members disembarked safely and were accommodated in the boarding area.

Data from aviation tracker Flightradar24 showed the aircraft returning to Goa from over the coast of southern Maharashtra. The flight was flying at an altitude of around 14,000 feet when it turned back towards the airport.

Investigation Underway

The exact nature of the engine-related issue was not immediately available. IndiGo and aviation authorities are expected to provide further details as technical teams examine the incident.

The flight’s departure for Delhi has been rescheduled for 3:30 pm, subject to aircraft clearance and operational requirements.

Passengers from the affected flight have been accommodated in the boarding area and are expected to travel to Delhi on the rescheduled flight.
