Indigo aircraft aborts take off with MP Dimple Yadav onboard major accident averted at Lucknow airport

A tragic accident was narrowly avoided on Sunday, at Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow airport. An IndiGo flight bound for Delhi had to abort takeoff on the runway. The captain’s timely decision to stop the aircraft saved the lives of 151 passengers. Among the passengers on board was Samajwadi Party MP and party president Akhilesh Yadav’s wife, Dimple Yadav.

According to media sources, the aircraft was accelerating on the runway for takeoff. It gained speed but could not lift off. Acting swiftly, the flight captain halted the plane before it reached the end of the runway. This incident left passengers on board terrified. However, all passengers were reported safe and were later sent to Delhi on another flight.

Technical issue on Surat–Dubai flight

Recently, an IndiGo flight from Surat to Dubai also faced a technical glitch mid-flight, forcing it to land at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.

More than 170 passengers were on board. Officials stated that it was not an emergency landing but a precautionary measure to ensure safe operations due to the technical fault. Hence, the aircraft landed in Ahmedabad. Officials later clarified that the decision was made with passenger safety as the top priority. IndiGo Airlines immediately arranged another aircraft, and all passengers were safely transported to Dubai Airport.
