Preparations are underway in Haryana's Jind to operate India’s first hydrogen -powered train, as per reports.

Railways officials reportedly carried out a detailed inspection on Tuesday as part of the initial process before the train is made operational. This project is being seen as an important step towards promoting green and modern transportation.

As per reports, several mandatory checks are being conducted before the train can begin service. These include safety inspections, trials by the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO), inspections by the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO), along with other technical evaluations to ensure passenger safety.

Officials have said that since hydrogen train technology is still new, certain challenges are expected. However, railway teams are working continuously to make the system reliable and safe. Divisional Railway Manager Pushpesh Raman Tripathi stated that efforts are being made at every level to ensure smooth operations.

Initially, the train is expected to run between Jind and Sonipat. Further decisions regarding routes, schedules, and expansion will be taken after successful trials and completion of all required procedures.
