Indian Railways to confirm waiting tickets 24 hours ahead of train departure

Addressing a major anxiety among travellers, the Indian Railways has decided to roll out confirmed passenger charts 24 hours before the journey instead of the four-hour norm.

Trial run for the new system begins

According to reports, the railway department has started working on a solution to one of the biggest problems faced by passengers, and trials have already begun.

Often, when passengers book their tickets, the status remains on the waiting list, causing continuous concern about whether the ticket will be confirmed or not. This becomes an even bigger issue for long-distance travellers.

To resolve this, Indian Railways has started working on a system that will provide confirmation status within 24 hours of booking.

A trial run of the new system began on June 6 as a pilot project in the Bikaner Division of Rajasthan. Currently, this system is limited to one train only.

However, initial reports suggest that no issues have been encountered so far, indicating that the trial is yielding positive results and providing relief to passengers.
