In a major counter-terror operation early Wednesday, over 80 terrorists were killed in a series of precision air and ground strikes carried out by the Indian Armed Forces across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The cross-border operation, code-named Operation Sindoor, targeted nine high-value terror facilities, including:
Markaz Subhan Allah, Bahawalpur
Markaz Taiba, Muridke
Sarjal, Tehra Kalan
Mehmoona Joya, Sialkot
Markaz Ahle Hadith, Barnala
Markaz Abbas, Kotli
Maskar Raheel Shahid, Kotli
Shawai Nalla Camp, Muzaffarabad
Syedna Bilal Camp, Muzaffarabad
As per reports, at least 24 missiles were fired during the operation.
Intelligence agencies are currently verifying the exact number of casualties at the remaining targeted locations. Preliminary assessments indicate that between 80 and 90 terrorists were neutralized in total during the operation.
According to Pakistani officials, at least nine civilians, including a 3-year-old child, were killed and 38 others were injured during the strikes.
In retaliation, Pakistani artillery fire into Indian-administered Kashmir resulted in the deaths of three Indian civilians, as confirmed by Indian authorities.
The facilities targeted included launch pads, training camps, and radicalisation centres operated by Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) — both of which are designated as terrorist organisations under United Nations sanctions.
