A Gujarat-based drone company, InsideFPV has supplied hundreds of kamikaze drones to the Indian army under an emergency deal with the defence ministry. The contract was signed in December, and the drones were delivered within just two months. While the exact number is not revealed for security reasons, the drones have been sent to the army’s Northern Command.

India’s defence manufacturing sector continues to gain momentum, with domestic firms playing a growing role in mission-critical systems. In a significant development, InsideFPV has successfully executed a ₹10 crore contract for the Ministry of Defence, delivering indigenous kamikaze drone systems within a tight 60-day timeline.

The contract was awarded under the Emergency Procurement Route, a mechanism designed to fast-track defence acquisitions during urgent operational requirements. The company completed the full delivery within two months, adhering to strict performance and deployment timelines.

According to officials, the project highlights India’s shift toward trusted domestic defence capabilities. InsideFPV demonstrated robust operational capacity and efficient coordination across manufacturing and supply chains.

Unlike conventional systems, InsideFPV’s drones are engineered for real-world deployment scenarios, ensuring reliability across extreme environments found in India.

Core capabilities include:

Operational in temperatures as low as -35°C

Effective performance in heat up to 50°C

Suitable for high-altitude, desert, and mixed terrain operations

Capable of functioning in GPS-denied environments

“Our kamikaze and FPV systems were engineered specifically for India’s harshest deployment environments. Executing this order in just two months proves that we can meet the Ministry of Defence’s operational timelines without compromising on volume or precision.”
