External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday launched the official website, logo, and theme for BRICS India 2026, marking the start of India’s chairmanship of the grouping.

He said the website would serve as a common platform, offering comprehensive information on BRICS meetings and related activities during India’s tenure.

Speaking at the launch, Jaishankar said the newly unveiled BRICS logo (with lotus taking centrestage) incorporates the colours of all member countries. He explained that the design symbolises unity and equal representation within the bloc, reflecting the shared identity and collective spirit of the BRICS nations.

The minister also outlined four key pillars that will guide BRICS during India’s chairmanship — resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability. He said these pillars capture the priorities of the grouping as it seeks to respond to global and regional challenges.

Jaishankar emphasised that BRICS continues to be an important forum for engagement, dialogue and cooperation among its members. Regular interaction, he said, helps strengthen mutual understanding and improve coordination on key international issues.

He added that deeper cooperation within BRICS can play a crucial role in addressing the common challenges faced by developing and emerging economies. Working together, he noted, enables member countries to pursue collective solutions in an increasingly uncertain global environment.

India assumed the BRICS chairmanship on January 1, taking over from Brazil. As chair, India is set to host the 18th BRICS Summit later this year, marking a significant phase in the grouping’s ongoing engagement and activities.
