ICAI postpones CA exams amid India-Pakistan tensions, fresh dates awaited
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has postponed all remaining CA exams scheduled between May 9 and 14, citing security concerns amid escalating tensions with Pakistan.
In an official statement issued late on 8 May, the ICAI said the decision affects the Final, Intermediate, and Post Qualification Course examinations, including the International Taxation Assessment Test.
“In view of the tense and security situation in the country, the remaining papers… stand postponed,” the institute said.
It added that revised dates would be announced in due course and advised students to stay updated via the ICAI website.
The move follows Operation Sindoor, under which Indian forces reportedly targeted terror camps across the border on May 7 in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 28 people.
Cross-border firing has reportedly intensified since then, with Pakistan allegedly targeting civilian and military areas in Jammu and Kashmir.
