IAS Abhishek Singh, a bureaucrat turned actor who was suspended in Feb 2023, resigned from his service.

During his observer duty in the Gujarat Assembly elections of 2022, Singh grabbed the spotlight as he was expelled from his duty for clicking pictures of himself in front of government vehicles and posting them on social media.

The much-talked-about IAS officer, Singh, was a 2011 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre officer and was also spotted in entertainment productions including Delhi Crime 2.

The much-talked-about IAS officer, Singh, was a 2011 batch officer and was also spotted in entertainment productions. Singh was deputed to serve the Delhi government for three years in 2015.

In 2018, the deputation period was extended by two years, and he went on medical leave. 

Later, he was sent back to the original cadre by the Delhi government on Mar 19, 2020, but he reported to the service in UP after a delay of two years even after he was released from Delhi, on June 30, 2022.

Due to this, Singh was suspended with immediate effect in Feb 2023 under Rule 3 of the All India Service Conduct Rules, 1968.

Abhishek Singh, a 2011 batch IAS officer, is a resident of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh while his wife, IAS Durga Shakti Nagpal, is the district magistrate (DM) of Banda district in the same state.
