IAF wing commander posted in Chhattisgarh found dead at Raipur residence

A 39-year-old wing commander of the Indian Air Force posted in Chhattisgarh and associated with anti-Naxal operations was found dead at his residence in Raipur on Wednesday morning, as per reports.
According to Additional Commissioner of Police Ramakant Sahu, the officer’s domestic help first noticed the deceased, Vipul Yadav, and alerted others.
As per reports, Yadav’s two children, a nine-year-old son and a seven-year-old daughter, were asleep in another room, while his wife was away in New Delhi for work, officials said. No suicide note was recovered from the room.
Senior police officers and forensic teams reached the residence after receiving information and began an investigation. The body was later sent for a post-mortem examination following panchnama proceedings.
Yadav had been reportedly posted in Chhattisgarh as part of operations against Naxal insurgents. Officials added that investigators are examining all possible angles in the case.
The probe suggests that domestic issues may have been a factor, although police said the investigation is still underway.
Officials said Yadav’s wife had previously served in the Air Force and is currently working in the information technology sector in Bengaluru. The officer was originally from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh.
Police said family members are being questioned, and the officer’s mobile phone has been taken into custody for examination as part of the probe.
