A 27-year-old woman in Meerut and her lover were arrested for the brutal murder of her husband, an ex-merchant navy officer, as per reports.

According to police, the victim – Saurav Rajput’s body was found chopped into 15 pieces and hidden in a cement drum at the roof of the couple's residence. The crime came to light when the 5-year-old daughter told neighbors that her father was in the drum.

Investigations revealed that Rajput’s wife, Muskan had been plotting the murder with Sahil – her lover. She manipulated Sahil into murdering Saurav by posing as Sahil’s late mother on Snapchat, as per reports.

Muskan convinced Sahil that she was her mother, who passed away two years ago, reincarnated, and ordered him to kill Saurav.

According to reports, Muskan and Sahil were regularly on drugs and were scared that his husband would stop her drug sessions. Muskan exploited Sahil’s drug dependency to manipulate him.

 She also reportedly brought knives two days before Saurav was returning from London, saying that it was for cutting chicken. She also faked her anxiety to get drugs as a part of her plan to kill Saurav, who had returned from London on Feb 24.

Muskan and Sahil are currently in police custody and face charges of murder, conspiracy, and destruction of evidence.

Meerut, Uttar Pradesh: City SP Ayush Vikram Singh says, "Yesterday(Mar 19), Brahampuri Police Station received information about a murder in the Indira Nagar area. Upon receiving the information, the police immediately reached the spot and began investigating. It was found that Saurav, who had returned from London a few days ago, had been missing since the 4th. His family had filed a missing complaint. During the investigation, his wife, Muskan, was called for questioning. During interrogation, Muskan revealed that she, along with her boyfriend Sahil Shukla, had murdered her husband Saurav..."
