Haridwar BJP leader arrested for making boyfriend, aide sexually assault 13-year-old daughter

In a shameful incident in Haridwar, a female BJP leader was reportedly arrested as she allegedly made her 33-year-old boyfriend and his aide gang-rape her 13-year-old daughter.

Anamika Sharma, former BJP Mahila Morcha member, and her lover Sumit Patwal, were arrested from a hotel on Wednesday after a medical examination of the minor confirmed that she had been sexually assaulted.

Haridwar Senior Superintendent of Police Parmendra Singh Dobal reportedly told the media that a medical examination of the survivor proved that she was gang raped, and two of the accused were arrested. The minor has given a statement in front of a magistrate, as per reports. The police are investigating to find the third accused, Sumit's aide.

Anamika, who previously led the BJP Mahila Morcha's Haridwar district unit, was stripped of her primary membership in the party after her name emerged in connection with the case.

As per reports, Anamika separated from her husband a few months ago.

She allegedly forced her daughter to consume alcohol and made her Sumit and his aide to rape her child.

Over three-four months, the girl was allegedly raped eight times at different locations in Agra and Vrindavan in the presence of her mother.

The horrendous trio allegedly threatened the girl not to tell anything to her father or they would kill her. Eventually, after months, the girl told her father about her ordeal.

A case was registered on Wednesday under BNS sections 70 (2) (gangrape), 351 (3) (criminal intimidation), and other sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
