Gujarat man caught entering famed Kerala temple with camera-equipped sunglasses

In Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, a 66-year-old man was caught entering a temple wearing smart glasses equipped with a camera, as per reports.
The man reportedly from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, was detained by the temple security following an inspection.
The incident occurred at the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Kerala’s capital city, when the man was stopped due to a flashing light in the sunglasses he wore, reports stated.
Like several temples in India, cameras are not allowed at the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, and videography is prohibited.
The famed Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple located in the heart of the capital city thought to be the world’s richest temple with an asset base worth over ₹1 lakh crore, mostly in gold, silver and diamonds.
Padmanabhaswamy is the tutelary deity of the royal family of Travancore. The titular Maharaja of Travancore, Moolam Thirunal Rama Varma, is the trustee of the temple.
In 2023, the temple had around 200 employees both permanent and temporary and a sizeable number who are paid pension.
