GST Portal Update as of 11 pm Friday

The GST portal has been down just hours before the crucial deadline for filing monthly and quarterly GST returns. With the deadline for submission falling on Saturday, business owners across India have been unable to access the portal, creating widespread concern. The portal has been non-functional since Thursday, just 48 hours before the deadline, leading to a demand for an extension

Business owners had anticipated that there would be no issues filing the returns as the deadline approached, but the portal went down, creating difficulties for them to file on the last dates.

On Thursday, the portal was down across India for 24 hours, and as of now, it is still not working. As the last day to file GST returns is Saturday, the portal remains non-operational, and business owners are now demanding an extension of the filing deadline. They have requested the deadline be changed from January 11 to January 13.

On Thursday, the official social media handle of GSTN updated that “GSTN hereby acknowledges the issue being faced regarding GSTR-1 summary generation and its filing.” It further stated that their team is working on the issue and will resolve it shortly.

This was tweeted 22 hours ago, and the portal is still not working.

An update was just posted minutes ago, stating that the website will be operational by 12 PM on Friday.
