In the era of digitalization and the 'Digital India' mission, it seems derisive that most of the government helpline telephone numbers are out of reach!

People, especially senior citizens, seek helpline numbers as their last resort to reach out to any services regarding the government services online. However, reportedly, several such helpline numbers are not operational currently, if you were to call them.

Which government helpline numbers are not working?

If you were to call the following numbers, these would not be answered.

1) Indian railways

2) PAN card

3) MNREGA

4) Income tax

5) Jan Dhan Yojna

6) MSME Udhyami

7) AIDS helpline

Digitalization has often been boasted by the government when it comes to online ticket booking, PAN card services, etc. Nevertheless, many people face difficulties while using vulnerable government websites.

Surprisingly, helpline numbers that provide services regarding women's safety in trains are also not working. The Railway Protection Force's (RPF) helpline number 182, provided for speedy assistance to passengers in the event of thefts, harassment, pickpocketing, or other criminal incidents on rail premises, is non-operational.

Moreover, the railway's helpline number 138 is also not working, which avails services including coach cleanliness, pantry, etc.

Citizens prefer online procedures related to Aadhar cards or any other document-related services instead of draining themselves in a long queue. But there are many errors that people face while using government websites, and they end up standing in a queue for simple work.

This is how, in the era of 5G networks, Indian citizens are seen waiting for their turn to settle a small query at the government offices.
