First session: 18th Lok Sabha begins, INDIA bloc holds march

The first session of 18th Lok Sabha has begun today (June 24, 2024 to 3rd July, 2024). This session will witness oath/affirmation of the newly elected members of the Lok Sabha, election of Speaker, address of President of India and discussions.
Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Kiran Rijiju informed these details through a post in social media platform ‘X’(formerly twitter). Minister also informed that the 264th session of Rajya Sabha will commence on 27th June, 2024 and will conclude on 3rd July, 2024.
The BJP’s Bhartruhari Mahtab was sworn in as the pro-tem Speaker of the Lower House of the Parliament.
After Prime Minister Modi took oath as MP, Pro-tem Speaker Bhartrihari Mahtab administered oath to Radha Mohan Singh.
The members of Parliament are taking oath in the House. Meanwhile, INDIA bloc MPs marched their way to Parliament with copies of Constitution.

Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Shivraj Chauhan, Piyush Goyal, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh, Sarbananda Sonowal took oath as MP.
