‘Felt Unsafe’: Woman Biker Alleges Car Followed, Hit Her Motorcycle in Gurugram

A woman biker in Gurugram has alleged that a car repeatedly followed her and eventually hit her motorcycle before fleeing the spot, leaving her shaken and raising concerns over road safety in the city.

The rider, who identifies herself as Sia and runs the Instagram page rebelwheels_sia_, shared footage of the incident on social media. She said the incident took place on Sunday while she was riding her Aprilia RS 457 sports bike on Golf Course Road with members of her biking group.

Woman alleges car occupants behaved aggressively

According to Sia, the car occupants had been following her from the beginning of the ride and allegedly repeatedly tried to move close to her motorcycle.

She said she asked them to maintain a safe distance, but they allegedly asked her to stop. Sia also claimed that the men appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

The rider said she continued ahead to avoid being cut off by the car. One of her friends riding behind her also reportedly tried to intervene by positioning his motorcycle between the car and Sia.

Car allegedly cuts across biker's path

Despite these efforts, Sia alleged that the car continued following her. She claimed that at one point, the driver attempted to cut across her motorcycle's path, resulting in a collision.

The impact reportedly threw Sia off her bike, while her motorcycle was dragged several metres along the road. The car allegedly left the scene immediately after the collision.

The incident was captured on an action camera mounted on Sia's motorcycle.

Friend confronts driver at traffic signal

Sia further claimed that one of her friends followed the car and managed to stop it at a traffic signal.

According to her, the friend confronted the driver and told him that he was responsible for the collision. However, she alleged that the driver denied being involved in the accident and drove away once the signal changed.

Rider appeals to Gurugram Police

In a social media post, Sia appealed to the Gurugram Police to take action against motorists who allegedly endanger other road users and flee after accidents.

She also shared the vehicle's registration number and the name of the registered owner as mentioned in the vehicle's registration certificate.

The video subsequently drew considerable attention online, with users expressing support for the rider and urging authorities to investigate.

Several users tagged the Delhi Police, Gurugram Police, Gurugram Traffic Police and Haryana Police, while others called for an FIR and highlighted concerns over rash driving and road safety on Gurugram's busy roads.

Sia said after the incident: “Today I felt unsafe on Gurugram roads.”
