Father allegedly kill twin daughters in UP, reports crime himself

A man in UP’s Kanpur allegedly killed twin daughters aged 11 by strangulation, as per reports.
The accused, Shashi Ranjan Mishra, 48, allegedly killed his daughters by strangling and slitting their throats with a sharp-edged weapon at his flat early Sunday.
Mishra, a medical representative, reportedly called the police and informed them that he had murdered his daughters. Upon reaching the flat, the police found both girls lying in a pool of blood with their throats cut.
The police said that the accused and his wife, Reshma, are residents of Bihar who are living with their twin daughters and six-year-old son in Kanpur. During the investigation, police reportedly found that Mishra was suffering from depression that made him put multiple CCTV cameras inside his home.
Police also found that he suspected his wife had an affair.
His wife Reshma, who is from West Bengal, met Shashi while working at a beauty parlour in Kanpur and they got married in 2014, reports citing police said.
Police reportedly suspect mental stress, depression, and financial problems as the reason behind the murder.
