A man who had returned to Faridabad from Singapore to attend his nephew’s wedding was shot dead by his neighbour following an argument over vehicle parking in Sector 21C on the night of Dhanteras. The accused, identified as Mohan alias Monu Sharma, allegedly fired 15–16 rounds from his licensed pistol, leaving Paramjeet Dhankar with eight to nine bullet injuries.

The incident took place two days before Diwali. The accused fled with his family after the shooting, and police have launched a search to trace him.

Paramjeet Had Returned from Singapore Two Days Earlier

Paramjeet lived with his wife, son and daughter on the first floor of house number 641 in Sector 21C. Originally from Hisar, he worked for a large national company and stayed in Singapore for professional commitments.

He had returned to Faridabad just two days before the shooting to attend his nephew’s wedding, scheduled for November 24.

According to police, Paramjeet returned home from the gym at around 8 pm when an argument broke out with Mohan, who lived on the third floor of the same building. The disagreement reportedly concerned vehicle parking.

The argument escalated, and Mohan allegedly pulled out his licensed pistol and opened fire. Paramjeet suffered eight to nine bullet injuries and died in the attack.

Earlier Dispute Involved Victim’s Son and a Dog

Police said the two families had a history of disagreements. Five days before the shooting, Mohan had allegedly abused Paramjeet’s son following an argument involving a dog.

After the shooting, Mohan fled with his family. Police teams, Crime Branch personnel and a forensic science laboratory (FSL) team reached the spot after receiving information about the incident.

Investigators recovered empty cartridge cases from the scene as part of the probe.

Police Search for Accused; Post-Mortem to Be Conducted

Police are conducting searches to trace Mohan. Paramjeet’s body will be sent to ESIC Medical College for a post-mortem examination.

The investigation is under way to establish the sequence of events leading to the fatal shooting.
