Ex-serviceman shot dead in Kashmir’s Kulgam, wife, relative’s daughter injured

Three individuals including an ex-serviceman, his wife and their relative’s daughter were injured after terrorists fired upon them from point-blank range in the Behibagh area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday, according to reports.

According to a source, 39-years-old Lance naik (L/Nk) Manzoor Ahmed Waghey (Retd) - shot in abdomen after which he succumbed to his injuries.

His wife Aaina Akhtar (32) was shot on left thigh while Saina Hameed, daughter of Habibullah Shah (13), a relative of L/Nk  Manzoor Ahmed Waghey, was shot on right hand.

The injured were swiftly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, as per local news.  

Reports suggested that security forces have cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation to locate the attackers.
