Former Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Zeeshan Siddique has allegedly received death threats via email over the past two days, according to police officials in Bandra. Law enforcement authorities confirmed they are in the process of registering an FIR based on his statement, which was being recorded on Monday evening.

As per the reports, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 9), Nimit Goyal confirmed the development and stated that security around Siddique’s residence in Bandra has been increased as a precautionary measure.

The incident comes months after a violent attack that claimed the life of Siddique’s father, former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique.

He was fatally shot outside Siddique’s Bandra East office on October 12, 2024, by a gunman identified as Shiv Kumar Gautam.

Reports indicate Gautam fired six shots, three of which struck the senior Siddique in the upper body. He succumbed to his injuries within an hour of being admitted to Lilavati Hospital.

Although Gautam was arrested approximately a month after the shooting, two other individuals believed to have masterminded the attack – Zeeshan Akhtar and Shubham Lonkar – remain at large.

As per reports, on Monday, Zeeshan reportedly received three threatening emails from an account claiming to be associated with the Dawood Ibrahim gang. Sources revealed that these messages were sent to Siddique’s Gmail account and allegedly included demands for ₹10 crore in protection money.

Although the emails had reportedly been received over the past two days, authorities were only informed on Monday, when Siddique brought the matter to the attention of the police. Officers from the Bandra police station, along with personnel from the Mumbai Crime Branch, have launched inquiries into the case.
