Ex-husband stabs techie to death, smashes her head with flower pot

A software engineer was murdered, allegedly by her ex-husband, in the Vanasthalipuran area of Hyderabad. As per reports, this attack was fueled by jealousy and was driven by his resentment over her recent remarriage.

This incident occurred in Green City Colony at around noon, the victim was identified as B Sunitha, was allegedly stabbed multiple times and was also struck on the head by a flower pot, killing her on the spot, by her ex-husband culprit, Mahesh.

As per reports, they both got married in 2022 and divorced in 2024, following disputes between the couple as well as their families. After their marriage in India, Mahesh had gone to Canada and Sunitha later joined him there. However, differences arose between the couple, and after staying with him for five days, she returned to India and subsequently filed a domestic violence case against him in Maharashtra. In April 2025, Sunitha got married again.

In March last year, the accused returned to India following the death of his mother but was unable to travel back as a look-out notice had been issued against him in connection with Sunitha’s case, and his passport was suspended. Since then, he has been staying jobless in his native village in Telangana.

Reports suggest, the grudge against her led to this, as he allegedly traced her residential address through her social media account, had come to Hyderabad just two months ago and was staying at a nearby hostel.  Following the murder, police reportedly traced the accused from the apartment premises. He was carrying a bag containing two knives, a drilling machine, a can of five litres of petrol , among different other items.

The victim’s husband also stated that Sunitha was three months pregnant, however the post-mortem report is awaited to confirm any of these claims.
