Ex-DGP found dead in Bengaluru, wife and daughter under probe

Former Director General of Police (DGP) of Karnataka, Om Prakash, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his residence in Bengaluru early Monday morning, according to police reports.
The 68-year-old retired top cop was discovered lying in a pool of blood on the ground floor of his three-storied house. Multiple stab wounds were found on his body, particularly on his abdomen and chest, indicating a violent altercation.
According to reports, Prakash’s son filed a police complaint after discovering the incident. It has been alleged that the former DGP had an argument with his wife over a property dispute. The quarrel reportedly escalated into a physical confrontation, during which his wife is suspected to have thrown chili powder at him and stabbed him to death.
Sources reveal that after the alleged murder, the accused reportedly spoke to another officer’s wife and confessed to killing her husband. Police soon reached the location and detained both Prakash’s wife and daughter for questioning.
While the wife is currently the prime suspect, the police are also investigating the possible involvement of the daughter in the incident. Preliminary reports suggest that the dispute stemmed from property the retired officer had transferred to his relatives, which became a point of contention within the family.
The police were reportedly informed of the murder at around 4 a.m. The investigation is ongoing.
