A horrific incident unfolded in Hyderabad where a family, along with their pet dog, was brutally thrashed by a mob. The incident was recorded on CCTV and went viral on social media.

In a viral video, Srinath (a resident of Madhuranagar) and his dog were seen out on a walk when the dog allegedly tried to jump at Dhanunjay, one of the neighbours of Srinath.

Suddenly, a mob surrounds Srinath and his dog, and starts beating them.

After the violent altercation, the pet owner’s family reportedly ended up in hospital. According to another video, the pet was also admitted to the veterinary hospital as one of the attackers hit a stick on its head, severely injuring it.

At one point the residents were also seen beating Srinath’s wife, who came to her husband’s rescue.

In reply to a X user who “hoped that they would be booked under relevant strong sections and sent to jail”, and tagged the city police and the police commissioner, the Hyderabad city police responded today on X, “All the accused booked under Section 307 IPC and sent to judicial remand on May 15.”

Recently, another such incident came to light on May 8, when residents of a Noida society gathered in large numbers and attacked a young couple who fed and cared for community dogs.
