Elon Musk likes bizarre post saying ‘Britishers never ruled India’, netizens react

Elon Musk, owner of X known for his provocative remarks, stirred fresh controversy on Thursday after liking and reacting to a post on his platform that strangely asserted that Britain never actually ruled India.
The original post uploaded by Stefan Molyneux, a far-right nationalist, said, “If Indians set foot in England and become English. Then the English who set foot in India became Indian. Therefore, the English did not rule India. There is no such thing as ‘colonisation’.”
Musk not only liked the post but also shared it, accompanied by a “thinking face” emoji, boosting its reach. The post rapidly went viral, garnering nearly five million views, while provoking a torrent of angry reactions from Indians.

A user commented, “You have to learn the difference between colonisation and globalisation. The British Military used Mustard Gas on Indians for ‘scientific experiments’ even before Hitler did that on Jews. We won't let you whitewash the crimes done by the British crown. (Also, the British ruled India for approximately 200 years. Let Indians live in England for around 150 years at least, and that will be till 2100 CE, and then you can start complaining. Don't complain before that.”
One user wrote, “White nationalists are trying to equate colonial military invasion, rape, plunder, and exploitation with legal immigration and naturalisation. The goal is to whitewash colonial guilt while vilifying minorities.”
Another user commented, “Did Indians loot the British gems, gold, or sculpture and unique artworks and stuff their treasury and museums with them? Did Indians make the British slaves? Did they loot the minerals of the British? Did they divide the British based on caste and race?”
