The election results for all five states will be declared on Dec 3. Before that, here’s what the exit polls say:
Exit Polls of Rajasthan assembly elections:
Rajasthan has 200 assembly seats, and the main contest is between the BJP and the Congress. The Congress emerged victorious in the 2018 assembly elections, while the BJP won with a majority in the 2013 elections. Exit Polls of Madhya Pradesh assembly elections:
Madhya Pradesh has 230 assembly seats, and the main contest is between the BJP and the Congress. Madhya Pradesh had earlier experienced a hung assembly in 2018, with the Congress, which won the most seats, forming the government in the state with the support of the BSP, SP and independents.
However, after Jyotiraditya Scindia’s rebellion against the Congress, the Kamal Nath government of the Congress collapsed within 15 months and BJP came to power. The majority figure in Madhya Pradesh is 116.
Exit Polls of Telangana assembly elections:
Telangana has 119 assembly seats. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) (formerly Telangana Rashtra Samithi) won the 2014 and 2018 elections after Telangana was carved out of Andhra Pradesh. 60 is the magic number to get a majority in a state. The term of the 15th Legislative Assembly of the state ends on Jan 14, 2024.
Exit Polls of Chhattisgarh assembly elections:
Chhattisgarh has 90 assembly seats, and the main contest is between the BJP and the Congress. Chhattisgarh has an incumbent Congress government, formed in 2018, while BJP won the 2013 elections.
