In that case, four labourers working for a private contractor were trapped under rubble. One worker, Sheikh Shamshad, succumbed to his injuries, while another, Md. Ayub, suffered serious head and limb injuries and remains critical at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
Two other workers, Sheikh Saidul and Rafik-Ul, sustained lesser injuries. Police subsequently detained the building owners and the contractor, noting that no official permission for demolition had been granted by the relevant authorities.
